WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPER -- Rockville, Maryland

To further support the efforts of our growing company, ZeniMax Media Inc. is expanding our IT team.  As the Web Application Developer you will provide support to the IT team while focusing on the development of Web applications in PHP on MySQL database in a Linux/Apache environment. 

Responsibilities:

• Utilize all aspects of the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack on a daily basis to turn design documents into working applications
• Work with other business units to define objectives and translate these objectives into design documents
• A strong understanding and experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Administer Linux via the command-line interface, including system maintenance and scripting
• Administer MySQL database
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work individually and as part of a team to produce results

Requirements:

• 2-3 plus years of extensive experience with LAMP stack
• Proficiency in coding PHP web applications, particularly apps using a MySQL backend
• A strong understanding and experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Proficiency in administering MySQL databases via command line and web applications
• Proficiency with Linux command-line interface
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented and customer-oriented environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and able to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships
• Organizational skills as demonstrated by the ability to work on several tasks at once with frequent interruptions while meeting sensitive deadlines
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
• Assist with other IT areas as needed
• Ability to lift 60 pounds (monitors, computers, printers)
• Occasional travel may be required
• Rotation throughout team to be on-call after regular business hours and weekends
• Experience with Lighttpd is a plus
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Flash is a plus
• Proficiency with Windows operating systems is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint is a plus
